The 778 looked perfect until it arrived full of bugs. I am similar but looking at a 310 to a 540.Ĭlick to expand.Bought a 1608 couple years back as a stop gap figuring I’d get a top end unit shortly after, it’s still here. New Pioneer / Onkyo with Dirac, might be a possibility but I would need to see some reviews/ owner feedback first Yamaha A6A / A8A, these look really good but their room correction looks lacking. NAD 778, seems a bit buggy with people having numerous units, I am concerned about long term reliability of them.ĭenon / Marantz 7015, 4700, 6700, seems a small backwards step from Anthem but should be solid and just works. The biggest off put to me is the potential fan noise and if it wasn’t for this I would have ordered one already.Īrcam AV5 /10, no thanks, over priced and full of bugs as usual. I would expect some improvements but not earth shattering. I am not sure how much ”better“ they sound anyway as they run the same ARC Genesis as the older models. This has now been removed and with the fire at the factory their is speculation (probably true) that they have now changed the chips but to what and to what end, better / worse who knows.
